Several of these pieces (Geometric Jar and Pinkie) were featured in the May issue of Ceramics Monthly where I was recognized as a 2010 Emerging Artist.
The pieces shown here were slip cast using moulds created from found glass objects. I seek out objects that have extreme amounts of surface detail, so much so that it would be time prohibitive to create the works using other methods.
The geometric nature of the forms takes advantage of the nature of the soda firing process to emphasize the edges, planes and crevices of the work.
